Projects

DGP Water has completed many projects since inception in the water and wastewater space.

The following projects are just a few of these projects. We will be happy to provide additional information on these and other projects should you require.

Wamoon Sewerage Scheme

This project involved the detailed design and environmental assessment for a new sewerage scheme for the township of Wamoon near Leeton NSW.  The scheme consists of approximately 2,500 m of gravity reticulation, a wastewater pumping station, 5,200 m of rising main to connect to the existing sewer reticulation system in Leeton.

A full environmental assessment including ecological assessment and Aboriginal heritage due diligence assessment was undertaken for the project.  Tender documentation for the project including full specifications were prepared to allow the Client to tender the construction of the project.

As part of the design for the project DGP Water proposed an alternative concept for the project to the previous concept that had been developed for the scheme.  The alternative arrangement was ultimately adopted and the project tendered.  The alternative design completed by DGP Water is estimated to have saved the client close to $1 million and is also considerably cheaper to operate longer term that the original concept proposed.

Young Watermains

This project involved the detailed design of approximately 6 km of DN100 to DN300 pipelines throughout the township of Young NSW that had reached the end of their life and required replacement

The project consisted of approximately 6 km of reticulation pipelines, several state road crossings, river crossing, railway crossing and approximately 75 connections to existing reticulation pipelines through town.

The project was completed as part of a design and construction contract, with DGP Water Pty Ltd completing the detailed design and Thompsons Irrifab Pty Ltd delivering the construction of the new pipelines.

Raymond Terrace 12 Sewer Pumping Station

The client required a concept and detailed design to be prepared on a tight timeframe for a new wastewater pumping station and rising main to service a new 330 lot residential subdivision in Raymond Terrace NSW.

DGP Water designed approximately 2 km of rising main through an existing developed area along roads and existing services.

The quick delivery of the design allowed development to commence sooner than previously expected.

Lochinvar 3 Water Pumping Station

The client required a concept and detailed design for a new water booster pumping station to provide boosted water supply to approximately 1,624 residential lots as part of a new 1,900 lot residential land release area in Lochinvar NSW.

DGP Water designed a large building type booster pump station with four main pumps in a duty/duty/duty/standby arrangement.  The pump station included a new electrical transformer as well as a permanently installed standby generator.

Prior to DGP Water designing the pump station, development on the residential land was unable to occur until the pump station was in place.  Through the concept and designs prepared by DGP Water, the client was able to resume development of the land.

Weemala Residential Subdivision

The client required a concept and detailed design for new water and waste water reticulation and lead in services to support a new 700 lot residential subdivision as part of the redevelopment of a former industrial site in the Newcastle area.

DGP Water undertook overall servicing strategy development for the entire site as well as completing the detailed design of the main lead in sewer pipeline, internal water and sewer reticulation for the initial 6 stages of the development as well as the detailed design of a large Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) installation for the site.

The quick completion and approval of the design has allowed the Developer to commence construction early with all 6 initial stages of the development being able to be commenced simultaneously allowing quicker settlement of the early stages of the development.

Gunnedah to Curlewis Pipeline and Reservoirs

Projects » completed projects of DGP Water

The client required a detailed design of a new and reliable water supply scheme to service the township of Curlewis.

The project consisted of approximately 15 km of DN200 transfer pipeline, twin 500 KL reservoirs, chlorination facility along with associated flow meters, valving, roads and stormwater drainage to allow potable water to be transferred from Gunnedah to Curlewis.

The project was completed as part of a design and construction contract with DGP Water Pty Ltd completing the detailed design and TCM Civil Pty Ltd delivering the construction of the new pipeline and reservoirs.

The town of Curlewis was operating on bore water and through the work completed, the town now has better supply and access to water.

Huntlee LWC Project and Construction Management

The client required the project management and construction management of the construction and commissioning of a new advanced wastewater treatment plant to provide waste water treatment and recycled water supply for a 9,500 lot residential subdivision in the Hunter Valley.

DGP Water provided as part of the engagement full on-site management along with commissioning and validation of the treatment plant to allow the plant to be handed to the operations team along with 12 months of post commissioning support to the client.

The advanced wastewater treatment plant consists of a conventional MBR treatment plant with UV and Chlorine disinfection to produce recycled water for distribution via third pipe to the residential subdivision.

The outcomes from this project allowed the client to cease tankering of wastewater flows from the development and commence the supply of recycled water to the development and minimise the ongoing expenditure from the client.

Muswellbrook 5 Rising Main

Projects » completed projects of DGP Water

The client required a concept and detailed design as well as the environmental assessment for the replacement a section of Muswellbrook Shire Council waste water pumping station number 5 rising main. The existing section of rising main had experienced a number of recent failures and investigations had revealed that the section of pipeline had reached the end of its serviceable life and required replacement.

The section of rising main consists of approximately 1,200 m of DN300 DICL pipeline through the existing built-up residential area in Muswellbrook.

The project was completed as part of a design and construction contract with DGP Water Pty Ltd completing the detailed design and TCM Civil Pty Ltd delivering the construction of the new pipeline.

As part of the investigation a pipeline sizing analysis, materials analysis and water hammer analysis was undertaken to allow upgrade of the existing pump station number 5 in the future
